"ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind’s last attempt to restore the earth’s ecosystem. Rosa will soon learn that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival."

"The short-film was created entirely by young comic-artist Jesús Orellana with no budget during a single year. Since it's world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, ROSA has been an official selection at film festivals around the world such as Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, Anima Mundi or Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival. In October ROSA was screened at the opening night of the Sitges International Film Festival, considered the world's best festival specialized in genre films. Following the succesful festival run, the short film has attracted the attention of the major talent-agencies and Hollywood producers. Currently ROSA is in development to be a live-action motion picture."

Burning Man: Rites of passage - Day

This is one of two videos on a festival called Burning Man. I had no idea what this is; thus, I Googled it and discovered the following:

"Once a year, tens of thousands of participants gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. They depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever. Burning Man is also an ever-expanding year-round culture based on the Ten Principles."

Afghanistan – Touch Down in Flight

This is a beautiful, excellent video. It shows the essence of Afghanistan and its people

"As each of us has his own impression of Afghanistan that is predominantly marked with pictures of foreign forces, explosions and terror, we were privileged to have access to capture daily life and portrait some people of Afghanistan."
"We hope the pictures you know will merge with the pictures you see and will enrich your view on the country in the Hindu Kush."

A photographer walks around the woods to take some pictures, when something unexpected happens. This is a well done video especially considering that it was taken with an iPhone 4s.

Llewelyn Ash--Adventures of a Glass Blower

"A glimpse into the life of talented South Australian glass blower, Llewelyn Ash."

"Llewelyn's work has a distinctive and unique style that is sensitive to his surroundings. A lover of the outdoors, surf, sun, and skating, you can see his influences unfold in the stunning pieces he creates."

"Llewelyn’s glass is now being exhibited in art galleries Australia wide. With exhibitions held in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney in the last two years, including the Design Institute of Australia award, and the Australian National Glass Museum Student Award show."

Future Proof

"The DMC Initiative (DMCI) developed this piece as a response to the 2011 A/NZ PromaxBDA Conference title of Future Proof. "

"Our approach was to focus not on futuristic notions but to consider that which is timeless. People, the expression of self and the interactions between each other are timeless qualities relevant to creativity, no matter what the future holds."

"The concept started quite fluidly, by briefing a variety of dancers, with individual performance styles, to develop choreography based on the concepts of growth, sharing, sending and receiving."

"As a whole, the focus is on the dancers as they create and interact with abstract forms in a vast unknown world. Their own movements determine the creation and final destruction of these elements. Their own paths of communication and creative expression have come full circle, and all that remains is the individual. "

"Amasia- Possible Future Supercontinent After Actual Earth"
demonstrates that if nature is systematic, then there is a calm before
the torrents and an unleashing of perfectly normal change. The moving
imagery of terrain is pure. Its realness fools an untrained eye as
visual effects may trick the sharpest one. The jewelry industry is a
well-mapped frontier in search of discovery. The scenes in this film
welcome a new generation of raw talent and poise to an unexpected

This Israel

"A road trip straight through Israel. Had no idea what the complexities and diversity of the cultures were, but I got deeper and deeper, seeing all walks of life living together in this amazing land. The conglomerate of things happening in that tiny, but EPIC country (it's smaller than New Jersey!) packed a punch like a bustling beehive. I was overwhelmed and totally let Israel envelope me. I bonded with every flavor of person there... they were all Israeli. They were all beautiful people. (By the way, the title isn't spelled wrong, it again ;)"

A beautiful, well done, video of the city/state Singapore. It brought back good memories of my 1999 Christmas trip to Singapore. For those who have not been there, it is a clean, safe, and affluent city that is way more civilized than the major cities of the West. You cannot understand this until you spend a week or so in such a  city where the citizens are highly educated and who respect other people especially their family members and teachers. How novel?
