Kushiels Dart by Jacqueline Carey

Wow, what an epic book. I started this book in Rome last month and just finished it a few days ago (1 July). Little did I know that this is the first book in a trilogy. I am glad because I want more after listening for over 31 hours. The book follows the life of Phedre who is plagued with Kushiels Dart, a blood spot in her eye. In this fantasy version of Renaissance Europe Phedre must endure pain, slavery, and much more as she weaves herself through one adventure after another.
