The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.

Should you shield the canyons from the windstorms you would never see the true beauty of their carvings.

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.

The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to.

The opinion which other people have of you is their problem, not yours.

It is very important that you only do what you love to do. You may be poor, you may go hungry, you may lose your car, you may have to move into a shabby place to live, but you will totally live. And at the end of your days you will bless your life because you have done what you came here to do. Otherwise, you will live your life as a prostitute, you will do things only for a reason, to please other people, and you will never have lived. and you will not have a pleasant death.

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose.

There is no need to go to India or anywhere else to find peace. You will find that deep place of silence right in your room, your garden or even your bathtub.

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose, there are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from.

I feel sorry for every Therapist, Psychologist, and Psychiatrist I've ever met. I know I've put thoughts in their mind they will never forget.

Before I die I'd love to see my name on the Famous Bi Polar list I'm not ashamed of my Illness I believe most of my talent comes from it.

Don't live by my words, don't die by them, chew them slowly digest them, and smile if they give nourishment to your soul.

A vivid Imagination is awesome a Manic Imagination is a curse.

When my mind plays tricks on me I can deal. But when my mind plays tricks on my mind I can not tell what's real.

I'm tired of the whole anti-gun thing. Saying that Guns cause Murders is like saying Steering Wheels cause car wrecks.

The greatest communication barrier known to man is the lack of the common core of experience "When’s the last time you had a Manic Episode Doctor?”

Saying I don't take my meds because they make me feel funny. Is like cannibals saying they don't eat clowns because the taste funny.

Racism is taught in our society... it is not automatic. 
It is learned behavior toward persons with 
dissimilar physical characteristics.

My homemade education gave me, with every additional book that I read, a little bit more sensitivity to the deafness, dumbness and blindness that was afflicting the black race in America. She hated the namelessness of women in stories, as if they lived and died so that men could have metaphysical insights.

It was strange the way he loved her; a side long and almost casual love, as if loving her were simply a matter of course, too natural to mention.

Each of us, deep down, believes that the whole world issues from his own precious body, like images projected from a tiny slide onto an earth-sized screen. And then, deeper down, each of us knows he’s wrong.
